 Welcome to the 2021 Ajax Baseball Season! 

With the very good news that the province is starting to reopen, and sports are returning, we are excited to begin preparing for the kids return to play. 

Play Ball! – What’s Next? 

• Over the coming days your child/player will be assigned to a team. Your notification will come through Team Snap 
• Your coach will also be assigned at this time, and will begin to populate your schedule 
• The first phase of the reopen will be Development/Practice. This could be as soon as June 14th . This will be for approximately 3 weeks but is dependent on when Ontario allows us to begin games (likely phase 2 of the provincial reopen) 
• Practice times will be on the same nights as games were originally scheduled for: Mon – Peewee, Bantam/Midget, Tues – Tball, Wed – Mosquito, Thur – Rookie o Times and diamonds will be announced with the final schedule 

What do families need to do to prepare? 

• We are still in cautious times and efforts have been made to ensure this season is not only fun, but healthy and safe as well 
  • Please download the Baseball Ontario, OnDeck app to your phone. It is also available at https://ondeck.baseballontario.com/ • Self-screening through the OnDeck app is required by all participants, volunteers and spectators prior to attending any game, practice, meeting or other in-person team activity and any individual shall not attend if they fail the screening protocol 
  • Check-In through the OnDeck app is required by all participants volunteers and spectators attending any game, practice, meeting or other in-person team activity 
  • It is strongly suggested that equipment not be shared. While Ajax Baseball will provide a batting helmet to each player, and is providing sanitizer to each of the teams, players should have their own bats. We will also be selling used, sanitized, bats during the development & practice phase

And the best news of all ……..baseball costs even less in 2021! 

• Our original hope was to provide a $50 gift card to each player, toward the purchase of equipment. With the closure of local business’s and the uncertainly of available stock, we are instead discounting registration by $50. For those who have already registered, you will receive a refund in mid-late June. For new players, fees now reflect the new discount, at all age levels

Christmas can be a difficult time for many families in our community.  This year has impacted many families even more because of COVID-19.  Ajax Spartans will be hosting a food drive to help families have access to food over the Christmas holidays and beyond.  All food collected will be donated to Feed the Need Durham.

The Ajax Spartans Minor Baseball Association will be holding our virtual Annual General Meeting at 8pm on Tuesday, October 20th,  2020.
