LETTER TO THE AJAX BASEBALL COMMUNITY

The 2008 Ajax Spartans Executive would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our community members who have come forward to contribute their time and knowledge towards making the 2008 baseball season a rewarding one for all involved. Without your continued support, we would not be able to offer the children of Ajax a place to learn about good sportsmanship, being a team player and learning to love the game of baseball.

Many of you may not be aware of all that goes on behind the scenes towards making your experience with the Ajax Spartans an enjoyable one for players, parents and coaches. Our executives are all VOLUNTEERS who put in many, many long hours over the course of the year planning, scheduling and doing whatever needs to be done so all the players registered will have a memorable experience. However, the past few years have been very difficult on our executive, many of whom are doing more than one job with us as well as holding down their own full-time jobs or responsibilities.

At this time we are calling on the baseball community to support our efforts. We cannot continue to do this alone. We are looking for parents who are willing to volunteer their time with all aspects of planning and preparing for the 2009 baseball season. We are anticipating a shortfall in our executive for the 2009 season and need you to STEP UP TO THE PLATE.

If you would like any information on what is involved for any of our positions on our executive, please do not hesitate to contact any of the existing executives and they will be happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.

Remember, IT'S ALL FOR THE KIDS, that's why many of us are doing this, not for the betterment of our own children (many of our executives do not even have children playing); but for all the children playing. This is your chance to enhance your child's baseball experience as well as other players. We always welcome new ideas to make your child's experience a memorable one.

Our next Annual General Meeting will be on Wednesday September 10th at 7:30pm, Ajax Community Centre, Admirals Room. Please consider attending.
